Converse DC hasn’t changed the Chuck Taylor all star shoe much since it was first introduced in 1917. The only changes have been color and more color. Other than that, the shoe hasn’t changed at all. So why change a good thing? Converse decided to change its Chuck Taylor all star shoe this year. The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star High Top sneaker is said to change the shoe that is defining culture once and for all. Now this can seem like a really strong statement to make, especially with the shoe that has lasted over 80 years. So what makes the shoe so different?
The Chuck Taylor high top sneaker introduced this year has a side stitched detail. The Chuck Taylor All Star is said to stay true to its roots and be red on the outside and white on the inside, even with the added height. There are five styles of the shoe and each one is said to represent a different lifestyle. The unique detail is that the side is stitched with the Converse brand on the outside, and on the outside of the shoe, on the side tuck of the tongue is a large Converse Chuck Taylor star.
Of course the Chuck Taylor All Star is still red and white on the inside, but they have added different accents to the interior. Each style comes with a Converse star patch, and adds color to the shoe’s look on the outside. The colors shown on the pictures and in the article are dark soles, but the shoes come in light soles as well.
One thing the change is not, is a downgrade. The prices for the Chuck Taylor high tops are still in line with what we expect from the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star.
